OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2010. At international competition Vinalies Internationales which has taken place in Paris, the trade mark Fuerst von Metternich Brut was awarded with the gold medal, having beaten 3000 samples of champagne from the world over. Awards of Vinalies Internationales international competition are considered to be one of the most authoritative awards in the world.

At evaluation of sparkling wine, the jury makes a great account of conditions under which the grapes have grown – terroir whose concept includes a set of soil and climate characteristics.

Fuerst von Metternich Brut is produced of selected Riesling in the valley of Rhine on the earth of Rhinegau, which it has to thank to for its organoleptic properties. There are some hard rules under which Fuerst von Metternich Brut is produced for some centuries:

- Traditional fermentation method in bottle;

- Cuvee of the sparkling wine consisting exclusively of one year vintage Riesling grapes (therefore the sparkling wine Fuerst von Metternich Brut is produced in the limited volumes);

- In manufacturing, the grapes should be used grown exclusively on the earth of Rhinegau.

The connoisseurs attribute this sparkling wine to the premium class preferring its transparent colour and refined fruit bouquet.

The trade mark Fuerst von Metternich Brut is presented in Ukraine at the initiative of Kiev factory of sparkling wines "Stolichniy" having got the status of the official importer of European sparkling wine after the entry to the international group Henkell&Co in 2007.
