OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2010. ABADA chairman Tofig Nurullayev says that for the past quarter of 2010 sales of carnet TIR books decreased by 22.3% versus 17% in 2009.

“In the first quarter we sold about 1,400 carnet TIR books against 1,800 ones for the same period of 2009 and 3,000 ones in 1st quarter of 2008,” he said.

The cause of that is lack of export cargo and decline of external demand because of the global crisis.

Last year it was sold about 7,900 carnet TIR books.

In 2008, despite the kept problem with export goods in the country itself, ABADA sold 9,000 carnet TIR books that became a record for the Association. Earlier it could never sell more than 8,500 books.

At the same time in the 2nd half of 2008 it was sold 4,424 books against 4,576 ones in the 1st half of 2008.

In 2007 ABADA sold over 7,000 carnet TIR books and in 2006 a little more than 5,000 carnet TIR books.
