OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. The investment opportunities of Moldova will be presented within the frameworks of economic mission to Germany “Moldova presents” to be held in Potsdam on June 3-4. According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, this event is organized by the Ministry of Economy, the Organization for exports promotion and attraction of investments and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova.

The Moldovan delegation is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar. It includes the Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marcel Raducanu, CCI president Gheorghe Cucu, as well as 15 economic agents wishing to establish collaborative links with the German partners, including companies: Danube Logistic, Moldtelecom, Posta Moldovei, RED Union Fenosa , Sudzuker Moldova, Stroylux, Trans Oil, FEZ "Balti", etc.

The Economic Forum “Moldova presents” will be held on June 3 in Potsdam. It will present business opportunities and investment climate in Moldova. The priority objectives of this event are to promote a positive image of Moldova as a country with opportunities for profitable business-making, to advance Moldovan products at the German market, attract German investments, present a wine sector and export capacity of Moldova, etc. It is planned that Valeriu Lazar will also tell about the current economic situation in Moldova.

It is expected to provide information on free economic zones, to hold two sets of thematic discussions on cooperation in agriculture, food processing, construction and energy. The Moldovan businessmen will visit company Berger GmbH & Co, operating in the field of agriculture. On June 4, the Moldovan businessmen will meet with the German businessmen at the other economic forum in Bremen.

According to the Ministry of Economy of Moldova, in I quarter 2010, the volume of Moldova's foreign trade with Germany amounted to USD68.8 million, increasing by 3,9% compared with January-March 2009. The Moldova’s exports to Germany in this period decreased by 1,2% - up to USD16 million, while imports grew by 5,2% - up to USD52.8 million. To date, 166 companies with German capital operate in Moldova. The volume of German investments in the Moldovan national economy exceeds 1 billion 715.9 million leis and makes 7,1% of the total foreign investment in our country.
