OREANDA-NEWS. June 04, 2010. The Avtoradio, Humor FM, and Radio Alla radio stations, all part of VKPM, were all awarded the most prestigious professional prize, Radiomania 2010.

Avtoradio won in three categories. In the category ‘Promotion’, the winner was the unique project Avtoradio-Vancouver, organised during the 21st Olympic Winter Games. In the category Morning Show, the Radiomania 2010 winner was Murzilki Live, and in the category Radio Games, the winner was the promotional action New Year in a Grown Up Manner .

Humor FM won in the category of Humorous Programme. In the opinion of the jury, the best show in this category was Ditties From Our Courtyard. And in the category Thematic Programme, the main prize of the competition – a bronze microphone – went to the programme Backstage (Radio Alla).

In the special category of Radio Legend, the prize was awarded posthumously to VKPM founder Alexander Varin. “The main theme of today’s ceremony is a tribute to the memory of Alexander Varin, founder of VKPM. I’m proud that I lived in his time, and to work with his team, which can work wonders. Today’s ceremony is a triumph for VKPM. I note that this time there was no trace of surprise or discontent even on the faces of our competitors. Everyone understood that this time we have earned victory. Today’s ceremony is also about moving higher. Ahead of us are even greater achievements, and we have big plans,” said VKPM president Yuri Kostin.

The unified professional prize for radio broadcasters Radiomania is awarded annually by Mediasoyuz in close cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The aim of the award is to position radio as a modern and dynamically developing field, as a national industry, and to improve the professional level of radio workers. In total, more than 250 works from 110 radio stations across the country were submitted to the competition this year.

The celebratory Radiomania 2010 awards ceremony took place on May 14. Mediasoyuz vice president Yelena Zelinskaya and deputy minister of Communications and Mass Media Alexander Zharov opened the ceremony. Competition winners were congratulated by Minister of Communications and Mass Media Igor Shchegolev.
