OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2010. The former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko declares the need to make by "convincing public will" the parliament pass a law on the introduction since  January 1, 2010 of a moratorium on the gas price for the population and housing and utility tariffs increasing.

Speculation of the former Prime Minister on this subject seem more hypocritical, than Tymoshenko forgets more about that she is not the eternal opposition, but only - yesterday's bankrupt government. Moreover, that her activities in power exactly led to the need to adjust the price of gas.

Let us recall that it was Tymoshenko's Government, buying Russian gas at 330 dollars, and selling it at 50, covering the difference by the borrowed money. Due to IMF loans, Tymoshenko actually paid for his pre-election populism. At the same time, cynically deceiving her own people, and the International Monetary Fund. Indeed, in agreement with the IMF, which Tymoshenko personally signed, her commitment to raise gas price for population and tariffs for housing and communal services are registered in black and white. What limits of hypocrisy and deceit are presented her current protests against her own signed pledges! This fact cannot be refuted.

Thus, striving for power at any price, Tymoshenko drove Ukraine and each of us, including those not yet born Ukrainians in huge debts. Since December 2007 till February 2010 the national debt has been more than tripled and reached  316 bln. UAH. This means that every Ukrainian was in dept of 7000 UAH. There were no such an expensive government in any country in the world. Each year of Tymoshenko governing cost our state 100 billion UAH. Unjustified price of gas has led to distortions in the economy and caused deep concern for the State and family budgets.

The government in force had to deal with the treaty signed by the previous government headed by Tymoshenko in January 2009. In accordance with the indenture gas price for Ukraine is determined by the formula of quarterly price increase of around 25 dollars per thousand cubic meters of gas. Only Kharkov agreements of the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia have reduced the price for gas imports to 230 USD. In addition, the Government has set a goal to persuade the Russian partners of the need to revise the unfavourable for Ukraine treaty with the Russian Federation.

However, unanswered questions, addressed to the current opposition in the person of Yulia Tymoshenko, who yesterday was at power, remain: why have you taken such disadvantage for our country agreements? Where is your sense of responsibility for created by yourself critical situation in the gas sector? Why do you cynically accuse the government in force in what it is obliged to do, correcting errors of Tymoshenko's Government?

Thus, the Government of Ukraine in force is not going to solve these problems at citizens’ and stability in the country expenses. To reduce the burden on the family budget in the process of economically viable gas prices, an overarching system of subsidies by application principle is created. Poor would not suffer from higher prices - the Government's decision is to compensate unemployed and pensioners the expenses, they will not pay more than 10% of their household budget. For workers, this figure does not exceed 15%. This is the lowest in Europe ratio between the incomes of citizens and part of it, they pay for utilities.

Moreover, if we talk about certain moratoria, which Tymoshenko proposes to enter retroactively, is not it better to return several months and several years ago to ban herself to commit unprofessional and harmful to the country's actions?

The Government in force plans to mitigate all the social consequences that have arisen during the correction of others populist errors due to the development of real sector of the economy, increase the GDP, increase productivity, what means - by creating opportunities for every citizen of Ukraine to pay for any services without reducing quality of life.

Growth in real incomes of citizens of the country - is the goal of the government.

The country, executing the program of the President of Ukraine V. Yanukovych, seeks to enter the twenty of most developed countries. The government in force efforts are intended to make it happen as quickly as possible.
