OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2010. At the workshop “On Competition Issues in Retail Trade” organized jointly by the OECD Regional Centre for Competition in Budapest (OECD-GVH RCC) and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovskiy, Deputy Head of FAS Russia, had a meeting with Zoltan Nagy, the President f Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), where the parties signed a Cooperation Agreement, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

At the meeting FAS Russia was also represented by Lesya Davydova, the Head of the Department for International Economic Cooperation, and Andrey Yunak, Deputy Head of the Department for International Economic Cooperation.

The parties discussed ongoing cooperation between two authorities and outlined further steps for developing and strengthening bilateral relations.

Signing an agreement “On Cooperation in the Field of Competition Policy” is a principal step forward in cooperation between the two agencies.

The Agreements specifies general information exchange mechanism and principles for cooperating in course of joint investigations of antimonopoly violations in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Hungary.

Overall, the top-level meeting had a very friendly atmosphere, which is typical for relations between Russia and Hungary in the field of competition policy.
