OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2010. This was reported in the survey of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the developing countries of Eastern and Central Europe, and Middle Asia. The EBRD forecast on Moldova’s GDP growth for 2011 unchanged – 3,5%.

The EBRD notes that the Ministry of Economy continues to restore after the crisis due to support of the international financial organizations and increase of remittances from abroad from working migrants. Nevertheless, future perspectives for growth are limited by stable political uncertainty. Earlier, the National Bank of Moldova increased the forecast for Moldova’s GDP growth for 2010 by 1,6 pp – from 3,4% up to 5%.

The NBM has also increased the forecast for GDP growth for 2011 by 0,1 pp – from 3,3% up to 3,4%. More optimistic NBM’s forecast on GDP growth for 2010 and 2011 relates to the tendency for reduction of economic slump and restoration of economic growth. Moldova’s GDP in January-June 2010 amounted to 31,7 billion lei (USD 2,6 billion), increasing as compared to the same period of 2009 by 5,6%.

In 2009 Moldova’s GDP decreased by 6,5%. The International Monetary Fund forecasts the growth of Moldova’s GDP for 2010 at 3,2%, and for 2011 – at 3,5%.
