OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2010. Free Economic Zone Gomel-Raton was created by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus in 1998. FEZ territories are situated in the city of Gomel and in the Gomel region as well as in the cities of Mozyr and Rechitsa.

FEZ Gomel-Raton develops dynamically. Thus, for the period of January-September 2010 the foreign investment growth rate into the fixed capital came to 136% as compared to the analogous period of 2009. The production volume growth rate for all enterprises-FEZ residents in general makes up 126% for the 9-month period of 2010. In January-September 2010 the volume of foreign trade has already exceeded the annual volume of foreign trade in 2009. Export growth rate is almost 143% as compared to the last year level.

45 enterprises were registered as FEZ Gomel-Raton residents, including 24 commercial organizations with foreign investments from 12 countries: Germany, France, Austria, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Iran, Liechtenstein and others.

FEZ residents are active investors. For the past 12 years they have actually invested into the Gomel region economy USD 250 millions, including USD 130 millions of foreign investments.

For the past 12 years 5 500 new working places were created, and today 10000 employees are working on FEZ enterprises-residents.

FEZ residents execute export-import operations with 60 countries of the world. For all years of FEZ functioning, foreign trade turnover has reached almost USD 2 billions, including over USD 280 mln. – for 9 months of the current year.
