OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2010. Moldova increased natural gas import by 5.7% in January-September 2010 in comparison with the same period last year – to 776.1 million cubic meters. At the same time, the volume of its consumption in the country grew by 5.4% - to 715.72 million cubic meters, it was informed at the National Power Regulating Agency.

It explains this tendency by the rise in the level of gas consumption by all categories of consumers. According to the Agency’s data, domestic users and economic subjects registered the biggest growth of gas consumption.

The population increased natural gas consumption in January-September 2010 in comparison with the same period last year by 9.4% - to 231.1 million cubic meters, economic subjects - by 8.6% - to 157.86 million cubic meters, energy enterprises - by 0.8% - to 294.54 million cubic meters, public institutions - by 6% - to 32.22 million cubic meters.
