OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2010. A delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), led by the Deputy Head of FAS Russia, Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovsky, visited Bucharest to take part in the meeting of the heads of competition authorities of the countries of the Black and Caspian Seas, organized by Romanian Competition Authority, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Delegations from competition authorities of: Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia and Romania, as well as representative of the World Bank and international business-community took part in the meeting.

Andrey Tsarikovsky gave a presentation, where he highlighted the main areas of FAS Russia’s work and outlined the biggest cases and investigations carried out by the Antimonopoly Service within the last year. Special attention was given to the cases initiated against oil companies.

Participants discussed priority issues for developing competition policy in Romania and referred in details on the existing problems and the ways to resolve them. The meeting devised a cooperation plan in the field of competition policy between competition authorities in the region of the Black and Caspian Seas for 2011 - 2012. It was also proposed that such meetings should be organized annually as they are necessary for successful competition policy in the above countries.

Overall, the top-level meeting was organized in homely atmosphere, which characterizes general development of Russian-Romanian relations in the field of competition policy.
