OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2010. Bucharest hosted a meeting of the heads of competition authorities of the countries of the Black and Caspian Seas. Deputy Head of FAS Russia, Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovskiy and the President of Romanian Competition Authority Bogdan Marius Chirita took part at the meeting, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The parties emphasized fruitful cooperation between competition authorities, which became possible due to the Agreements between the State Antimonopoly Commission of the Russian Federation and the Romanian Council on Competition (November 1997) and Memorandum on Cooperation between FAS Russia and the Romanian Council on Competition (October 2008).

Within the framework of the Memorandum, competition authorities exchange information about competition policy and legal norms and organize annual training for the experts and regular meetings between the top executives of competition authorities of Russia and Romania.

Also representatives of the antimonopoly authorities discussed the latest changes in Russian and Romanian competition law. Andrey Tsarikovskiy told about the forthcoming “third antimonopoly law”, the main purpose of it is to reduce administrative barriers for business and increase transparency of the FAS Russia’s work.

"Bilateral meetings of the heads of competition authorities enable exchanging national experience in protecting and advancing competition, which facilitates development of effective basis to suppress market violations ", summed up the meeting results Mr. Tsarikovskiy.
