OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case upon the signs of violating Clause 3 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” against “RU-Centre [Regional Network Information Centre]” CJSC, “RU-Centre” Autonomous Non-Commercial Centre, “RELCOM.DELOVAYA SET” Ltd., “Demos-Internet” CJSC, “Registrator” CJSC and “Elvis-Telecom” CJSC, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

These organizations are accredited registrars in domain zone .RF, which started open registration on 11th November 2010.

According to the information available to FAS Russia, the registrars organize auctions between users for the right to register domain names.

Since the beginning of open registration in domain zone .RF, FAS Russia has received 14 statements from physical persons and legal entities regarding actions of “RU-Centre” CJSC, “RU-Centre” Autonomous Non-Commercial Centre, “RELCOM.DELOVAYA SET” Ltd., “Demos-Internet” CJSC, “Registrator” CJSC and “Elvis-Telecom” CJSC. FAS Russia continues receiving complaints against the registrars.

FAS Russia believes that the companies violated the law by entering into the agreement, as a result of which considerable part of domains were registered to the registrars.

The case will be heard in December 2010.
