“Elizaveta Petrovna and Moscow” is the central cultural event of the coming winter, it arouses genuine interest of the audience. For the first time the exhibition items from funds of the largest treasuries of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg are collected in one place and united by a conceptual idea, i.e. to highlight all the stages of the empress’s life: children’s and youthful years, coronation celebrations of 1742, “the small court”, court hunting, home life and her cultural activities. The exhibits devoted to the cultural-educational activities of Elizaveta Petrovna are of specific interest: the Moscow University and the Academy of Arts were founded during her royal ruling, the first Russian theatre was created.

The project was prepared for about three years. The exhibition concept belongs to Lyudmila Markina, Dr. of Art History, Head of Department of Painting of the XVIII – first half of the XIX century of the State Tretyakov Gallery. Alexander Konov, honored artist of Russia, museum and exhibition exhibits designer, decorated the exhibition together with his creative team in close and fruitful cooperation with the Tretyakov Gallery. “Our team joined the project more than half a year ago: by a special request order of Ingosstrakh. A unique designer’s solution to the arrangement of the exhibits was developed and realized. Decorating exhibition rooms, we tried not only to arrange the exhibits harmoniously but to reproduce the atmosphere, the spirit of that time by artistic and designer’s means giving much attention to volumetric-spatial constituents”, said A. Konov.

“We know perfectly well how important it is to protect all that was collected with great deliberation and increased over the course of history. Participation in development of the exhibition in the State Tretyakov Gallery is an additional opportunity to remind people that family heirlooms collected with difficulty, such as jewellery, objects of art and interior, rare vehicles or real estate in the modern world, need special care and preservation for future generations”, commented Irina Ponomareva, head of the VIP-Clients Service Department of Ingosstrakh.
