OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2011. Export of wood products from Latvia increased by 49% in the first nine months of 2010, while its value presumably reached 900 million lats by the end of 2010.

Roundwood was the most successful product. Its export value almost doubled to reach 104 million lats, while its volume more than tripled, up to 3.2 million cubic meters, Latvijas Avize reports.

Growth was also registered in other major sectors: wood chips, plywood, and sawn timber. Value of wood products made in Latvia in 2010 was nearly 1 billion lats, which is on 2006 levels.
