OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2011. Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov instructs the Kazakh Ministry of Oil and Gas to defend Kazakhstan’s interests in all major projects. At the end of 2010 KazMunaiGaz National Oil Company signed a final decision to expand carrying capacities of the CPC network. This was announced at an extended sitting of the Kazakh Ministry of Oil and Gas by KazMunaiGaz Chairman Kairgeldy Kabyldin.

According to him, export capacities of the pipe will grow from the current 26 million tons to 50 million tons by 2014.

Overall oil exports in 2010 totaled 71.2 million tons, 4.5% up against 2009, with CPC accounting for 40,2% of the overall exports.

Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov instructed Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev and KazMunaiGaz Chairman Kairgeldy Kabyldin to defend the state’s interests in major projects. K. Massimov noted that Kazakhstan is committed to contracts sanctity, but may turn to renegotiating a contract in case an investor breaks its obligations.

Estimated 2010 oil and condensed gas production stood at 79.7 million tons, 4.2% up against 2009. Major volumes of oil exports were sent through CPC (40,2%), Atyrau-Samara (21,5%), Atasu-Alashankow (14.2%).

One of the major tasks before the Oil and Gas Ministry is to supply maximum of oil to the domestic refineries. In 2010 the three refineries processed 13.7 million of crude, 12.8% up against 2009.
