OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2011. According to its press release, 394 lots of wine (1 556 397.5 liters.), 38 lots of brandies (109 925 liters) and 27 lots of wine materials (611 444 liters) have been imported to Russia from Moldova since January 1, 2011.

In 2010, 154 lots of wine, brandies and wine materials failed to meet the hygienic regulations. The total volume of the low-quality production from Moldova totaled 2 234 090.5 liters of wine, brandy and wine materials.

According to data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the Moldova alcohol production failing to meet the set requirements is re-exported: in 2010 872 284.5 liters were returned. As it was reported earlier, Rospotrebnadzor admitted that only 0.7% of wines, brandies and wine materials imported from Moldova in 2010 were of low-quality.
