OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2011. At a session of the OECD Competition Committee in Paris (France), Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Mr. Andrey Tsyganov had a meeting with the President of the Competition Authority of the French Republic, Mr. Bruno Lasserre, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Andrey Tsyganov informed Mr. Lasserre about some big cases recently considered by FAS Russia regarding producers of juices and dairy products and the heavy fines imposed upon oil companies.

In his turn, Mr. Lasserre offered assistance in investigation of antimonopoly violations.

The Heads of Russian and French bodies also discussed possibilities for representatives of the French competition authority to participate in the events being organised by FAS Russia in the field of competition policy and enforcement in 2011.

The highlight of the meeting was discussing the draft agrement on cooperation between FAS Russia and the Competition Authority of France in the field of competition policy, within the framework of which the parties will be able to reach a new level of interaction to carry out efficient competition policy in Russia and France. The parties expressed their confidence that such agreement would be signed in the near future.
