OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2011. The aim of this TATNEFT’s project is fine-tuning of technologies for effective field development management and upgrading of the technological personnel skills, reported the press-centre of Tatneft.

The third block of Romashkinskoye field Berezovskaya area of NGDU Almetyevneft, TATNEF, was selected as an experimental test site, where a 3-D geological and hydrodynamic model has been built and full scale automation has been carried out: "Lufkin” controllers have been installed at all 106 wells equipped with downhole sucker rod pumping units and flowmeters "Vzlet PPD”, pressure sensors as well as controllers for data transmission have been mounted at 104 injectors.

Alternative energy sources such as a wind turbine and solar stations have been installed at 11 injection wells. Water intake wells with submersible centrifugal pumps (ESP) are equipped with modern control systems based on application of telemetry systems.

All newly-introduced automation facilities are connected to a single Computerized Process Control System (CPCS), which has allowed improving the effectiveness of professionals’ operation in the oil field.

The geological and hydrodynamic model of Berezovskaya Area block has been created and adapted by the scientists of TatNIPIneft. Application of this model allows performing predictive calculations, which are subsequently tested in practice.

In the course of the project execution the experts of NGDU were enabled to perform technical record-keeping of electricity consumed on a well by well basis.

Full automation has allowed to significantly improve the quality of working with the interwell pumping stock. In addition to expediting the decision-making, the automation is aimed at enabling more accurate analysis of interwell spacing, which will allow improving assessment of the processes occurring in reservoirs in the future.
