OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2011. The representations of the largest foreign banks in Ukraine are interested in cooperation with Ukrainians agrarians and have expressed willingness to lend to our agricultural producers. This agreement was the result of meeting of Minister of Agricultural and Food Policy Mykola Prysyazhnyuk with Chairman of the Board of banking institutions.

"Involvement of credit in agricultural production is a key task work of the Ministry of Agricultural and Food Policy. Currently, domestic manufacturers are interested in lending of the future harvest, so the cooperation with banks is an integral part of the food security of Ukraine and domestic consumers. As a result of the agreements, foreign banks have confirmed their readiness to lend to agricultural production. I am convinced that new financial resources will allow Ukrainian farmers take a more active position in the global food market ", - said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, summarizing the meeting with bank executives.

Particular, the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of National Bank of Ukraine Yuriy Kolobov Bank, the Chairman of “Ukrsotsbank” Borys Tymonkin, the Chairman of "OTP Bank" Dmytro Zinkov and the Chairman of “Raiffeisen Bank Aval” Volodymyr Lavrenchuk.

Furthermore, the Head of Ministry of Agricultural and Food Policy has announced that today the Ministry together with of National Bank of Ukraine work under mechanisms that will simplify agricultural lending, and take into account best practices of European countries to create favorable conditions for agribusiness development.

Mykola Prisyajnyuk has also reminded the representatives of banks that his position on the circulation of agricultural lands is to prevent a deprivation of land Ukrainian peasants during land reform.
