OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2011. HK Electric opened its Electric Domestic Kitchen Centre aiming at promoting benefits of cooking with electric appliances. The centre displays kitchen models from luxury, superior to basic, demonstrating electric cooking can be integrated into any home upgrading lifestyle, reported the press-centre of HK Electric.

The luxury kitchen, equipped with an intelligent system, uses the most fashionable and advanced electric appliances and heat pump system. Regarding the intelligent system in the luxury kitchen, users can operate the electric appliances simply with tablet PCs or touch screens. The superior kitchen shows how electric cooking perfectly blends with an open kitchen design, while the basic kitchen demonstrates how electric appliances can easily fit in our home. With customers’ well-being and an eco-friendly environment in mind, HK Electric with its reliable power supply, intends to provide customers with a quality lifestyle.

The grand opening of the Electric Domestic Kitchen Centre was officiated by Managing Director of HK Electric, Mr. Tso Kai-sum, and food critic and culinary expert, Miss Vanessa Yeung.

“HK Electric has in recent years witnessed a high demand for electric living. It is healthy, safe, energy efficient and comfortable. Electric cooking is designed to suit every modern household pursuing an upgraded lifestyle,” said Mr. Tso.

A highlight of the ceremony was Miss Vanessa Yeung’s presentation of a delicious dish of “Assorted Golden Shrimps”, done with perfect control of the appliances and excellent heat distribution. Miss Yeung, who uses electric cooking, emphasises it is healthier, safer, more energy efficient and can prepare both Western and traditional Chinese cuisines, such as stir and deep frying, steaming, stew and simmering traditional Chinese soup.

In addition to kitchens, the Electric Domestic Kitchen Centre also features a showroom for bathroom facilities, showcasing the latest electric appliances such as floor heating system, a compact, stylish instant water heater and a towel warmer rack.

“There is a growing number of households adopting electric cooking,” said General Manager (Group Commercial), Mr. Arthur Wong. “About 30% of new residential projects on Hong Kong Island are now using full electric kitchens. We provide our customers – property developers, commercial and residential customers – with the latest information on electric kitchen equipment, assessment of existing energy systems and suitable energy-saving solutions, assistance in designing and installing electric cooking equipment, technical support for additional electricity supply, etc. We will continue promoting electric cooking to all.
