OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against “METRO Cash & Carry” Ltd. upon the signs of violating Clause 1 Part 1 Article 13 of the Federal Law “On the Fundamental Principles of State Regulation of Trading Activities in the Russian Federation”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

FAS Russia thinks that “METRO Cash & Carry” Ltd created discriminatory conditions for economic entities supplying food products by fixing the price of the contract s for paid services depending on the sales turnover under the contracts for supplying food products.

FAS Russia also believed that “METRO Cash & Carry” Ltd. violated this norm of the Law by charging all suppliers of the same category of goods the same commission for scope of supply - 10% of the price of purchased goods regardless of the sales turnover.

The case will be considered on 7th June 2011.
