OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2011. The ICIE Committee for Cooperation in Financial and Credit Policy and the Banking Sector met with representatives of the banking, investment, and insurance sectors of member countries, reported the press-centre of Uniastrum Bank.

Signed during the meeting, the Memorandum is geared toward creating a pool of bankers and entrepreneurs capable of accumulating funds on financial markets of countries which have business associations represented in the Congress. The funds raised will be allocated to trade and investment programs. Uniastrum is one of the first Russian banks to sign the Memorandum and was represented at the meeting by Irina Kozlova, Deputy Director of Uniastrum’s Department for Cooperation with Government Agencies. Moving forward, signatory organizations to the Memorandum will join the ICIE Committee for Cooperation in Financial and Credit Policy and the Banking Sector.

The activities of Memorandum signatory organizations will focus first and foremost on building economic cooperation, creating firm foundations for investments and optimizing the use of financial resources in ICIE member states. At present, the Congress unites national associations of industrialists and entrepreneurs from 26 countries in Europe and Asia. ICIE partners include more than one hundred companies and organizations operating in a wide range of economic sectors.

“In today’s economic environment signing a memorandum of this type helps strengthen international cooperation and develop the economic and industrial potential of ICIE member countries,” notes Igor Apostolov, Director of Uniastrum’s Department for Cooperation with Government Agencies. “We fully believe that the combined efforts of the Memorandum participants will generate new business projects and extend international links, also making it possible to find effective solutions to the tasks currently facing the banking community.”
