OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2011. Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Pavel Subbotin, and the Head of the Republic of North-Ossetia – Alania, Taimuraz Mamsurov, signed an Agreement designed to facilitate implementation of the programme for developing competition in the Republic, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

At the working meeting, the parties exchanged opinions about the problems of economic development of the Republic and cooperation of the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania with the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Republic of North Ossetia (North Ossetia OFAS Russia).

The main objectives of the Agreement is to eliminate administrative barriers, protect competition, create favorable conditions for effective market performance as well as ensure compliance with the antimonopoly law, the law on advertising and the law on state and municipal procurement of goods, works and services in the field of natural monopolies. The period of Agreement validity is indefinite.

According to the Agreement, the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania undertakes to consider FAS Russia proposals and materials and if necessary engage the relevant executive bodies in this work.

In its turn, FAS Russia will inform the Government of the Republic about exposed facts of violations and offer consultations on the issues within the scope of reference of the antimonopoly authority. Furthermore, FAS Russia will present to the Government of the Republic the findings of its analysis and monitoring of markets in North Ossetia.
