OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2011. Omsk Regional Arbitration Court upheld the decision of the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Omsk region (Omsk OFAS Russia) regarding Omsk suppliers of buckwheat, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In September 2010, Omsk OFAS Russia found that “Skurenko” Trading House” Ltd., “Melnitsa” Trading House” Ltd., “Omskoye” OJSC, “SibSol” Trading House” Ltd., “Inkos” Trading House” Ltd. and five individual entrepreneurs violated Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

Trading companies violated the law by exercising concerted actions on the market of wholesale trade with buckwheat in the Omsk region by fixing unreasonably high prices in July – August 2010.

“Skurenko” Trading House” Ltd., “Melnitsa” Trading House” Ltd., “Omskoye” OJSC, “SibSol” Trading House” Ltd. and “Inkos” Trading House” Ltd. disagreed with the decision of the antimonopoly body and filed a lawsuit.

Omsk Regional Arbitration Court dismissed the claim of these companies and confirmed validity of the decision made by Omsk OFAS Russia.

“The Court agreed with the arguments put forward by the antimonopoly body that during the analyzed period there had been no objective reasons to simultaneously increase wholesale ex-works buckwheat prices by the amount exceeding the growth of purchasing prices”, explained the Head of Omsk OFAS Russia, Sergey Soumenkov.
