OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2011. It increased by USD 64.84 million (19.7%) in comparison with the same period of 2010, according to the National Bank of Moldova. Particularly, the volume of money transfers in April 2011 totaled USD 116 million, up USD 20.8 million (21.8%) against April last year (USD 95.2 million).

About USD 336.02 million (85.4% of the total amount of money transfers in January-April 2011) were received by means of different quick money transfer systems against \\$ USD 275.2 million in the same period last year. 45.5% of the currency remittances, according to results as of the end-April 2011 accounted for USD, 40.4% - euro, 14.1% - Russian rubles.

As it was reported earlier, the volume of remittances to Moldova from individuals from abroad through commercial banks in 2010 totaled USD 1,244.14 million, USD 62.12 million (5.3%) more than in 2009. About USD 1 billion 72.24 million (86.2% of the total volume of remittances in that period of time) were received through different quick remittances systems.
