OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2011. The CNPC emergency response platform became trial operational online. It will be the basic foundation of the group's unified, rapid-reaction, coordinated and efficient emergency response mechanism, and provide an important guarantee to improve our ability to prevent, control and address all kinds of emergencies, reported the press-centre of CNPC.

The emergency response platform is composed of a command area at the headquarters, a management system and a switching-on system to the headquarters. Its top-level design is based on the system construction framework and sophisticated technical structure of the national emergency platform. Various communication and IT methods including satellite, Web and shortwave, as well as a map positioning system, are used to aid decision-making support for emergency early-warning, monitoring, response and consultation at different locations, as well as comprehensive resolution and scheduling. All data from our eight business sectors and 51 information systems can be displayed on this platform.

The platform will act as a response command center to cope with emergencies such as natural disasters, operational or environmental accidents, public health incidents and security issues. It will also act as a monitoring center for major risk factors and sources, and a publishing center for early warning and emergency information. In addition, the platform will meet the demand for around-the-clock on-duty, liaison and composite coordination, and fulfill its function to display routine information and manage basic data.
