OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2011. Ukraine and Bulgaria have tightened rules for Moldovan transportation companies, the Transports Ministry's press service has said.

According to a letter the Ukrainian Motor Transport State Administration sent to the Moldovan Transport and Road Infrastructure Ministry, starting from 15 July 2011, Moldovan haulers providing services of international occasional carriage of passengers will have to present Interbus and Asor waybills registered with the Moldovan Customs Service while crossing Ukrainian customs points. The waybills must comprise the list of transported passengers. If haulers fail to present the required waybills, they will be barred from transiting Ukraine.

Bulgaria also announced movement restrictions on its first class national roads and highways for high-tonnage trucks (including trailers and semi-trailers) with more than two axles, agricultural machines, tractors and specialized equipment for constructions. The Bulgarian embassy in Moldova said that the ban will be in force from 30 May through 30 September 2011 at 16:00-22:00, on the last working days of the week and the days before holidays and on holidays.

The restriction was introduced to ensure better traffic security in summer.
