OREANDA-NEWS. July 07, 2011. As a part of its European Banking Awards, the international finance magazine EMEA Finance pronounced Nordea the best bank in Estonia in 2010, reported the press-centre of Nordea.

According to Vahur Kraft, head of Nordea Estonia, the EMEA Finance award means recognition of Nordea’s great work and its current strategy. “Nordea has proved to be a reliable bank that values customer relationships. I am happy that our work so far has been reflected in the superb economic results of last year and a leap in customer numbers. This award certainly gives us motivation to continue with the current strategy,” Vahur Kraft said, and added that it is gratifying to learn Nordea’s activities have stood out in international context.

EMEA Finance experts ranked the banks inter alia based on the economic results, profit growth, international expansion etc. According to the organisers, the winning banks proved to have effective management and long-term strategies.

The award was presented to the head of Nordea Estonia, Vahur Kraft, during a festive ceremony in Vienna.

EMEA Finance magazine is a noted international finance publication, gathering financial news, events, and analyses on European, Middle-Eastern, and African hot topics. Every year, the magazine praises the best banks through giving out the Europe Banking Awards.

This year, the best bank title is already the second international award for Nordea. A few weeks back, the trade and finance publication Trade Finance Magazine selected Nordea the best trade finance bank in the Baltic and Nordic countries for the second year in a row.

A member of a leading European finance group, Nordea is the only universal bank in the Estonian market with the highest AA credit rating, offering services to both private and corporate customers.
