OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2011. Tata Power, India’s largest integrated private power utility, has always been at the forefront of driving environment conservation around its areas of operation. In continuation with these efforts, Tata Power, in association with Kidzee pre-school, has planted saplings of approximately 100 varieties of fruits and flowers in Haldia.

Under this initiative, Tata Power also organised an energy-conservation awareness programme for the parents of the Kidzee pre-school students. The objective of involving parents was to garner support for this movement. This initiative helped kids gain better understanding about the concept of environment conservation at a young age.

Speaking about this initiative, Vijayant Ranjan, station manager, Haldia power plant, said, “Caring for the environment is the need of the hour. The objective of undertaking these green initiatives is to increase environment-conservation consciousness and to demonstrate how each one of us can contribute towards combating climate change, which is a challenge for the present and future generations. It is a message we want to drive into the hearts and minds of our employees, local schoolchildren and also their parents.”
