OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. Arbitration Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan pronounced legitimacy of the determination issued by the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Bashkortostan OFAS Russia) about imposing an administrative fine nearly 900,000 Rubles upon “Ufa International Airport” OJSC, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The administrative case was initiated upon the fact of abusing dominance on the market of filling services (aviation fuel and lubrication materials). Bashkortostan OFAS Russia found that “Ufa International Airport” OJSC violated Clause 10 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The rates applied by “Ufa International Airport” OJSC for refilling aviation fuel to aircrafts were not approved by the Federal Tariff Services.

On 11th May 2011, Bashkortostan OFAS Russia issued a determination imposing an administrative fine upon “Ufa International Airport” OJSC.

The company filed a lawsuit challenging the determination issued by the antimonopoly body.

Arbitration Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan pronounced legitimacy of the conclusions made by Bashkortostan OFAS Russia regarding “Ufa International Airport” OJSC.

“Having considerable possibilities, holders of natural monopolies should be held accountable for violating the existing antimonopoly law to the full. Pronouncing legitimacy of the OFAS decisions by a Court of Law is very important for the market of fuel supply”, said Deputy Head of Bashkortostan OFAS Russia, Ms. Rasima Salyakhutdinova.
