OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. The issues of further development of Turkmen-Indonesian cooperation were considered during a meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the members of the delegation led by Aji Setjavana, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Turkmenistan, who were on a visit to the Turkmen capital.

During the meeting the guests were briefed on the major aspects of the domestic and foreign policies of the Turkmen state pursued under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Putting emphasis on significance of the initiatives put forward consistently by the Turkmen leader to achieve global security and sustainable development, the members of the delegation expressed the willingness of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to enhance mutually advantageous partnerships with Turkmenistan, whose peace-loving policy and openness for an active dialogue had gained high international prestige.

Focusing on importance of building up the political dialogue, the meeting participants expressed the intention to conduct political consultations on a regular basis between the foreign ministries of the two states.

The trade and economic, humanitarian, construction, recreation and tourism sectors were mentioned as the promising fields of bilateral partnerships. The members of the Indonesian delegation said that they were the project of the world-class seaside resort, the Avaza national tourism zone on the Caspian seashore aroused particular interest in their country.

The members of the Indonesian delegation were received at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan where Mr. Aji Setjavana put forward the proposal to organize and hold joint business forums and exhibitions to showcase the achievements and potential of both economies given the prospects for promoting trade and economic contacts and the favourable conditions to intensify them.
