OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) sent a letter to the President of the Builders Association of Russia, Mr. Nikolai Koshman, that public statements about possible growth of prices are unacceptable, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Builders Association of Russia published its forecast regarding behaviour of the cement market in mass media, particularly, mentioning sharp increase of cement prices in August 2011.

FAS considers such public statements unacceptable because it may result in unreasonable growth of product prices, which is not based on objective pricing factors on the market.

Also the antimonopoly authority may classify such actions as coordinating economic activity of independent market players that lead or can lead to restriction of competition.
