OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2011.   Power Machines have manufactured, tested, and handed over a steam turbine for the new power unit at Karagandinskaya CHP-3.

The contract to manufacture and supply equipment for the fifth 150 MW power unit, which is under construction, was signed with the Kazakh Company Karaganda Energocentre LLP in June 2010.

Under the terms of the contract, Power Machines are to manufacture and supply a Т-120/140-12,8 steam turbine and a 160 MW turbine generator with an excitation system and auxiliary turbine unit equipment to the station. In addition, Power Machines specialists are going to supervise installation, commissioning and train the client's personnel. The date of term for the supplies of the equipment is scheduled for summer 2011.

Previously, in March this year, Power Machines manufactured, tested, and handed over to the client a turbine generator for Karagandinskaya station  ahead of schedule.

The new equipment is intended for the fifth power block of Karagandinskaya CHP-3, which is expected to come into operation in 2011.

Power Machines' participation in this project continues the partnership between the Russian power plant company and Kazakhstan's power industry. In 2008, Power Machines manufactured and supplied a K-55-90 steam turbine and a ТZFP-63 turbine generator for the power station operated by Kazakhmys Corporation.
