OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2011. TNK-BP increased the volume of its purchases from companies in the Tyumen Region to 6.2 billion rubles in the first 8 months of this year, said Oleg Chemezov, Vice President, OJSC TNK-BP Management, at a round table meeting held in Tyumen. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Tyumen Region Government and local manufacturers and service providers, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

Since 2009, TNK-BP and the Tyumen Region Government have been implementing a program for joint support of companies in the south Tyumen Region. A joint Coordination Group was created in April 2009 to monitor the current contracting process in TNK-BP as well as the resolution of complaints. As a result, the volume of materials and services purchased from suppliers based in the Tyumen Region increased from 3.9 billion rubles in 2008 up to 7.8 billion rubles in 2010.

In cooperation with the Tyumen Region Government, TNK-BP will continue improving the contracting process transparency to reach the strategic goal of integrating a long-term system of relations with suppliers and contractors and improving the efficiency of purchase of materials and services.

At the same time, high quality and standardization of contractors’ products and services remains to be one of the key aspects, said Aleksei Kada, Vice President, Upstream Supply Chain Management and Director, Materials Procurement Department, OJSC TNK-BP Management. TNK-BP has a number of its own technologies for improving the quality of products and is ready to share these technologies with its partners, he said.
