OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2011. Sberbank of Russia and Landesbank Berlin AG signed a Basic agreement for financing imports of capital goods and services to Russia under Export Credit Agencies cover, reported the press-centre of Sberbank.

On the signing ceremony Deputy Chairman of the Board of  Sberbank Russia Bella I. Zlatkis said:

“Execution of the framework agreement is a next step towards mutually beneficial cooperation between Landesbank Berlin AG and Sberbank of Russia. This agreement provides for additional capacities for Sberbank of Russia under special OECD programs to maintain long-term financing of infrastructure and other investment projects of its clients on favorable terms.

Cooperation with Landesbank Berlin AG would facilitate additional possibilities for Sberbank’s clients to receive reasonably priced financing for setting up new or renovating existing capacities with utilization of advanced foreign equipment and technologies.”

In turn the Chairman of the Board of  Landesbank Berlin AG Dr. Evers said:  "The currently signed framework credit agreement with Sberbank of Russia envisages considerable basis for further extension of existing  close business relationship with  Landesbank Berlin AG.

It would create background for supporting German exports and would also promote modernization process in Russia. Significant role for Landesbank Berlin AG in this cooperation is export financing of clients of German Sparkassen".
