OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2011. Russian Bank for Development OJSC (RBD) has changed its name to OJSC “Russian Bank for Small and Medium Enterprises Support” (SME Bank). Rebranding was initiated by the State Corporation “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)” – the sole shareholder of SME Bank, reported the press-centre of SME Bank.

The Central Bank of Russia has confirmed the registration of the name change and changes in the Articles of association as well as reissued the banking license.

“The purpose of the rebranding is to focus the attention of the public and the target audience on the core mission of the Bank – SME support. Rebranding doesn’t imply just changing of the signboard: we must develop to ensure publicity, openness and accessibility of the SME Bank’s Program”, pointed out Sergey Krjukov, CEO of SME Bank.

The Bank’s name change will not entail any amendments in the previously concluded agreements and contracts, and in any way will not affect the Bank’s rights and obligations under the agreements and contracts and other legal obligations.
