OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2011. In the period of 27.06.2011-01.07.2011 Air Moldova had undergone an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) reaching compliance in different operational areas like: Management and Control including Safety and Quality Systems, Flight, Dispatch, Maintenance, Cabin, Ground Handling, Cargo and Security Operations. Thus Air Moldova obtained outstanding results, reported the press-centre of Air Moldova.

Today leading airlines from all regions have incorporated the IOSA Standards into their airline operations, and it is a major component of industry efforts to improve aviation safety. IOSA is recognised around the world as the benchmark safety audit programme.

Currently more than 350 airlines from all over the world aligned themselves to IOSA standards and are registered as IOSA operators. Air Moldova is proud to say we are in pace with global aviation industry requirements regarding quality, safety and security of air transport operations.

The IATA statistics shows outstanding results of IOSA programme, the accident rate for IATA carriers has dropped considerably. The data confirms that IOSA is helping to drive safety improvements around the world.

The considerable effort that Moldovan Flag carrier has made in order to align to the world safe airlines community has been remunerated with excellent results during IOSA audit this year. IOSA Registration is a confirmation of the commitment of an airline to deliver safe operations.

To maintain their status on the IOSA Registry, airlines must undergo, and complete, an IOSA audit every two years, in order to ensure continuing and systematic implementation of safety standards. IOSA audits are conducted by Audit Organizations accredited by IATA, that are independent of any airline or airline grouping. Each organization uses approved IOSA auditors that meet stringent IOSA training and qualification standards.

“The main priority of Air Moldova is the safety of flights. It was confirmed by the IOSA Audit results that overcome the performances obtained in 2009. Our company, as the national carrier, assumes a great responsibility for passengers, ensuring safe and secure flights”, affirmed the General Manager of Air Moldova, Iulian Scorpan.
