During the first year, all capacities of the plant will be used to fulfill two contracts on reconstruction of the two Chisinau-Soroca road segments: for the 26th km to the 54th km and from the 54th to the 71st km of the road. The first contact is valued at 207.14 mln leis (USD 17.9 mln), the second – 73.7 mln leis (USD 6.3 mln). The money was provided by the EBRD and by the European Investment Bank as credits provided to the Moldovan government.

The right for reconstruction of these two segments of the road of the total length of 44.96 km was won by the consortium of Italian companies компаний TOTO Construzioni Generali S.p.A. and Taddei S.p.A. as a result of the tender carried out in February 2011. Later, they registered the TOTO Taddei enterprise in Moldova that is dealing with fulfillment of the contracts. According to their conditions, the works were started in March 2011 and are to be finished by September 2012.

Valerio Taddei said all works would be fulfilled in time and would be of high-quality. He said the Italian investors had come with know-how of producing asphalt of high-quality. Such asphalt hasn’t been produced in Moldova before. Meanwhile, mainly raw materials extracted in Moldova are used.
