OREANDA-NEWS. October 7, 2011. On the 21st September of the current year JSC NC “KazMunayGas” (further-NC “KMG”) conducted a meeting in Astana with the participation of National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC, “KazMunayGas” Exploration Production” JSC, “KazTransOil” JSC, “KazTransGas” JSC, Atyrau refinery LLP, “PSA” LLP, NCOC, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating BV, “Tengizchevroil” LLP, the Union of Kazakhstan's Mechanicians and Domestic Producers related to the Kazakh content growth in the group of companies of “KazMunayGas”.

The Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” Kairgeldy Kabyldin noted that at the present time JSC NC “KazMunayGas” manages the production of 21 items in Kazakhstan such as controller instruments, screw-type pumps, gas distributing points, and various electrical items, filters, packers, drill pipes and etc. As a result of taken actions in the following domestic enterprises such as “Ust-Kamenogorsk Valve Plant” JSC, “KSP Steel” LLP, “FormatMachCompany” LLP, “ADS (automatic decoding system) Technology” LLP, “Electrikum Kazakhstan” LLP, “Schneider Electric” LLP and others over 600 jobs will be created.

Besides, JSC NC “KazMunayGas” is planning to increase the value of long-term agreements up to 54 billion tenges in the current year, with the aim of providing domestic companies with guaranteed orders.

Kairgeldy Kabyldin told about the perspectives of the Kazakh content growth and appealed managers of the Domestic Managers to consider the possibility producing goods which are not sufficiently covered by production in Kazakhstan, including particularly chemical reagents, laboratory and electric lighting equipment, electric pump units and etc.

“Among the topical issues of developing the Kazakh content are the lack of production capacity of some types of equipment, high cost, and nonconformity of the producing equipment and technology by domestic enterprises of with the international quality standards. The Kazakhstan’s factories need to engage the foreign partners who can implement new technologies and advanced management experience to improve the competitiveness of goods,” noted the Chairman Kairgeldy Kabyldin.

The Chairman of the Association of Legal Entities “The Union of Kazakhstan’s Mechanicians” Meiram Pshembaev highly appreciated the contribution of KMG in the development of domestic machinery-producing industry, and noted the effective collaboration of KMG and the Kazakh producers.

In his turn, the President of “Belkamit” JSC Pavel Beklemishev pointed out at the necessity of involving the Kazakhstan’s mechanicians to take part in large projects such as "Construction of complex for production of aromatic hydrocarbons (CPA) at the Atyrau Refinery" and construction of the gas pipeline “Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent” (BBSH).

In accordance with the terms of the signed agreement for the construction on a turnkey basis of the CPA project at the Atyrau Refinery, the share of the Kazakh content on the purchase of goods, works and services shall be at least 21% of the total cost; in the purchase of equipment - at least 14% (or 7, 8 billion tenges),in the purchase of materials-18% (or 2.7 billion tenges); in the purchase of works (services)-13.6% (or 8 billion tenges).
