OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2011. The respective initiative was voiced by Prime Minister Vladimir Filat at the working meeting attended by Moldovan vine-growers and wine-makers. He proposed to form the Fund formed partially from the state budget, producers themselves and foreign partners.

The participants in the meeting discussed the situation in the field, measures to reform the sector, and made proposals to improve the work of the vine and wine producers. Particularly, it was proposed to set up the Vine and Wine Agency, to found the Vine and Wine Fund that should be formed partially from the state budget and private funds.

The prime minister asked that the quality of the exported wine products should be strictly monitored and promised the state’s support to promote wines on the foreign market.

He underlined the need of a campaign to promote the Moldovan wines. Vladimir Filat said a new wine terminal would soon open in Bryansk. Earlier, such a terminal was opened in St Petersburg. At the same time, other actions are also needed to promote the Moldovan wine on the foreign market, said the Premier. He stressed that a range of measures had been undertaken by the government to facilitate the sale of wines on the domestic market, among which the exemption from excise duties.

Yet, he demanded a better fiscal administration in the sector, recalling that the state budget revenues from the farming sector are decreasing. The vine and wine producers showed interest in new measures to reorganize the field, and asked for a balanced fiscal policy and equal conditions for all the enterprises.
