As it was informed by the National Bureau of Statistics, in particular, in January-August 2011, Moldova increased exports to the EU-27 by 67.1% - to USD 686.6 million, while imports from EU countries increased by 39 4% - to USD 1434.5 million, share of the EU in the total Moldovan exports in January-August 2011 increased compared to the same period in 2010 from 48.6% to 50.2% and their share in the total Moldovan imports declined by 0.2 percentage points - to 44.7%.

Moldova's largest trading partner in the EU is Romania, which accounted for 18.2% of Moldovan exports (USD 249.1 million) and 11.5% of imports to Moldova (USD 370.1 million).
