OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2011. Ukraine is ready to implementation of joint projects with Saudi Arabia. This was declared by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during a meeting with the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.

The Head of Government has noted that political dialogue between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia during the current year was considerably activated: with visits to Ukraine, there are came ministers of transport, the finance, agricultural industry and the Assistant Secretary of defence.

"This year was a year of the significant activation of political relations between our countries. Therefore, probably, it is time to pass to implementation of particular projects. We are ready to it," Mykola Azarov is convinced.

He has also reminded that the protocol on cooperation in agricultural, oil and gas and other spheres of economy has already been signed.

The Prime Minister has informed that during the current year, Ukraine has harvested more than 50 million tons of cereals and is ready to send for export of 25 million tons. He has suggested Saudi Arabia to become the peculiar sales representative of Ukraine in the Middle East region, in particular in those countries which need agricultural industry goods.

"We are ready to export over 25 million tons of grain. Saudi Arabia could become our peculiar representative among the countries of your region where there is a need for agricultural industry goods," Mykola Azarov has told. He has added that such cooperation would be mutually beneficial.

The Head of Government has also offered cooperation in industries of aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding and space industry. According to him, Ukraine is building the most modern aircraft - AN-148 and AN-158 and AN-74 - and engines for all types of helicopters produced in Russia.

Mykola Azarov has also stressed that Ukraine and Saudi Arabia have the considerable potential for a growth in volumes of a mutual turnover. "We believe the trade turnover between our countries in the amount of USD 300 million is extremely small. It could easily be increased by at least 10 times," the Prime Minister has noted.

Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, in turn, has noted that during the visit to Ukraine and particularly today's meeting, he has received a lot of useful information that would facilitate the development of bilateral relations. "I hope that during following visit we will talk really that our relations have passed to a more practical, high level," he has underlined.
