OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2011. The 2011 Best Annual Reports Awards Prize Presentation Ceremony sponsored by the Hong Kong Management Association took place in Hong Kong. ICBC won the "Citation for Corporate Governance Disclosure" Award, the only listed bank winning the award, reported the press-centre of ICBC.

The Best Annual Reports Awards is an annual competition organized by the Hong Kong Management Association since 1973. The Awards aim to reward companies for excellence in the disclosure of annual reports and encourage the publication of well presented information to increase the transparency of the listed companies. The Awards are: Best Report Award, Citation for Corporate Governance Disclosure, Citation for Design, "General" Category, "Non-profit Making and Charitable Organizations" Category, Best New Entry and Judge's Special Award. Winning the award bears testimony from the industry to ICBC's sound corporate governance as well as the information disclosure level.

For the past few years, corporate governance remains a clear focus of ICBC core competence, especially the set-up of "Stockholder Meeting, Board of Directors, Supervisory Board and senior management", comprehensive risk management and internal control in a bid to achieve continuous enhancement of corporate governance. While maintaining a high level of compliance with the mandatory disclosure requirements in and outside China and the conformity to the style of information disclosed, ICBC provides voluntary information relating to corporate governance in line with the investor needs and actual situation with summary of past results and highlights. Investors who may have interest in the performance and governance of ICBC would find such additional information helpful. It also provides full and fair disclosure, informing stockholders about the condition of ICBC so as to make their investment decisions.
