OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2011. During his visit with China Center for International Economic Exchanges ("CCIEE") in U.S., Capt. Wei Jiafu, Chairman of COSCO Group met with Richard A. Lidinsky, Jr., Chairman of The Federal Maritime Commission ("FMC") in Washington D.C., reported the press-centre of COSCO Group.

Capt. Wei specially thanked Chairman Lidinsky for his presence at COSCO's celebration of the 50th anniversary in April 27th, and presenting Capt. Wei the "Award of Merit Certificate". During the meeting, Capt. Wei briefed Chairman Lidinsky about the concluding APEC CEO Summit, as well as the World Shipping (China) Summit 2011 held weeks ago in Hainan Province, the two events where Capt. Wei's remarks regarding the current global maritime industry, especially his iteration for inter-industrial self-discipline were largely echoed.

Chairman Lidinsky applauded Capt. Wei's responsible vision towards the common industry, and highly valued COSCO's legitimate business operation in U.S. market. In addition, he believed COSCO greatly contributed to maintain an orderly maritime industry, promote China-US trade, as well as provide U.S. customers with outstanding services.

This meeting was also attended by Ronald Murphy, Managing Director of FMC, and Liu Hanbo, President of COSCO Americas, Inc.
