OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2011. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has revised standards for the elimination of outmoded steel-making facilities across China.

Whether a production line should be scrapped or not will depend on the amount of energy and resources it uses and its clean production capability, instead of on a controversial standard on its size as stipulated in the State Council’s circular published last year.

Some producers have been forced to close their small facilities according to the regulation, only to set up bigger ones.
