OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2011. The UTair Aviation Professional Skills Competition took place in the new Terminal A at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow on November 26.

12 of UTair flight attendants from various cities in the CIS slugged it out to take home the title of Best Flight Attendant Crew. The contestants demonstrated expertise in completing a number of challenging and creative tasks reflecting their duties and spoke eloquently about the regions where they live and work.

Members of the jury determined the winners on the basis of thematic competitions in which the professional quality of UTair flight attendants were evaluated along with their creative abilities. The first place prize went to the UTair-Ukraine fight attendant crew 'Avtopilot' from Kiev, with teams hailing from Tyumen and Ufa coming in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.

UTair flight attendants are considered full members of the crew, tasked with ensuring the safety of passengers during the flight and their comfort on board the aircraft. If necessary, flight attendants may render first aid and in the event of an emergency, safely and effectively evacuate passengers. Applicants wishing to become UTair flight attendants must meet strict health, educational, and appearance requirements. Before performing duties on board aircraft, trainees must undergo a complete cycle of theoretical and practical training with experienced instructors on simulators. Today, the UTair Group employs more than 1,800 flight attendants.
