OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2011. The Administrative Board of the World Bank approved the additional credit for Moldova at a sum of USD 10,2 mln. to realize the project “Services of Health Care and Social Assistance”.

As the Ministry of Health inform, these funds will be allotted by the International Association for Development, a part of the World Bank, at regular terms for 25 years with the 5 year grace period and 0,75% service fee per year. The interest rate makes 1,25%. The project includes three components: modernization of the health care system, social assistance and social wellbeing and the project management support.

The aim of the project is to make qualitative and effective medical services more affordable for people, to bring down the death and the early disability rates, etc. Initial value of the project made \\$17 mln. All funds will be used to continue modernization of already existing and construction of new medical centers in the rural area, promotion of reforms of primary and further health care and improvement of the information system of the social assistance.
