OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2012. Mostotrest entered into a contract with Avtodor State Company for Phase 1 construction, maintenance, scheduled and capital repairs and toll-based operation of the km 258 – km 334 (Vyshny Volochek Bypass) segment of the Moscow – Saint Petersburg Highway (M11) in the Tver Region.

The Vyshny Volochek Bypass Road is an integral part of the new M11 Moscow – Saint Petersburg Highway, currently under construction on commission from Avtodor State Company. The total value of Phase 1 construction, including site conditioning and installation of toll systems will be RUB49.6 billion (VAT-inclusive), with commissioning scheduled for July 1, 2015. The project envisions a contractor investment of RUB5.2 billion (VAT-inclusive), to be recovered by the contractor at the stage of operation, in accordance with the approved schedule. Project Phase 2 envisioning operation, maintenance and scheduled repairs of the toll segment will stretch over 18 years after the completion of construction.

As part of the 72 km-long segment construction project, Mostotrest will build 54 engineered structures, including 40 overpasses, 14 bridges and 2 split-level traffic interchanges at intersections with the existing M10 Moscow – Saint Petersburg Highway (bypass start and end points). The km 258 – km 334 of the new М-11 MoscowSaint Petersburg Highway is a Grade 1A highway. Upon completion of Phase 1 construction, the segment will offer 4 traffic lines with design speed of up to 150 km/hour.

In accordance with the contract, at the post-construction stage Mostotrest will ensure maintenance, scheduled and capital repairs of the segment and engineered structures, as well as operate the segment's automated traffic management system and collect tolls on behalf of Avtodor State Company.
