OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2012. On January, 25 Head of Karelia Andrei Nelidov in Moscow met with Alexey Miller, Vice-Chairman and CEO of Gazprom.

During the meeting matters concerned implementation of the cooperation agreement between the Government of the republic and Gazprom signed in November, 2011 in Petrozavodsk during the visit of President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev to the capital of Karelia.

The parties have mentioned that in 2012 the volume of design and survey works carried out by Gazprom within the territory of Karelia has grown considerably. Compared to the period of 2006-2011 when it has made almost 785 million rbl., in 2012 it is planned to achieve the level of 500 million rbl.

Funds will be spent on design and survey works concerning construction of the Murmansk – Volkhov gas main which will ensure transportation of gas from Stockman gas condensate field to the unified gas supply system.

Andrei Nelidov and Alexey Miller have also discussed issues related to prospects of further gas supply of Karelia. First of all, it concerns construction of the Volkhov – Petrozavodsk gas pipeline which will make it possible to bring gas to regions of North Ladoga lakeside.
