OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2012. In Ukraine, the measures to combat corruption and raidering have been strengthened. This was stressed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during his meeting with the former British Foreign Minister Malcolm Rifkind.

Mykola Azarov informed Ukraine has significantly expanded the rights of anti-corruption committee: it will work under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine led by the Secretary of the NSDC Andriy Klyuyev.

In addition, according to the Prime Minister, it has been decided the interdepartmental commission on combating illegal seizure and takeover of companies under the Government would be headed by the First vice Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovsky.

"By doing so, there has been raised topic of combating corruption and anti-raidering to a much higher level," stressed Mykola Azarov.

The PM informed that for corruption offenses in the past two years in Ukraine it have been brought to justice of officials more than all 20 years of independence. "And this work is to be continued," he assured.
